He is suffering from violent epileptic seizures and struggles to keep on working. Investigator Yakov Guro accidentally witnesses one such fit and realizes that Gogol's visions contain clues that could help solve actual crimes...

1. An Unexpected Case

By chance, Detective Guro stumbles upon a case where the junior law clerk, Nikolai Gogol, is experiencing a seizure. Turns out, these experiences include powerful crime-solving visions.
